Soprano -Soprano is the smallest of the four ukulele body sizes and is the traditional ukulele size. The Honu Soprano is perfect for kids learning ukulele or for adults who prefer the brighter tone of a traditional ukulele.
Concert -Concert ukuleles are currently the most popular ukulele body size worldwide. Bigger than a soprano but smaller than a tenor, a concert uke is the perfect middle ground for most players. This size is suitable for all ages, though small children may be better suited to a soprano.
Tenor -Tenor ukuleles are exploding in popularity thanks to the full, deep sound produced by their larger body size. Bigger than the concert, the tenor is great for teenagers and adults that are looking for the most volume from their ukulele and extra space for their fingers on the fretboard.
Baritone -As the name suggests, a baritone ukulele is the largest and deepest sounding of all of the ukulele sizes. Usually tuned like the highest four strings of a guitar (DGBE), rather than the GCEA tuning found on most ukes, a baritone is great if you have a background in guitar because you won't have to learn any new chord shapes. They are also very fun if you are a ukulele player looking to experiment with a different tone.
Acacia has long been one of the most popular tonewoods used on higher end ukuleles and it's easy to see why. Visually striking and tonally rich, each piece of acacia has its own characteristics, making each instrument built with it unique. For our Kohala Deluxe series, we have paired the all acacia body with abalone style purfling and rosette and flame maple binding. As with all Honolua Ukuleles, it includes premium features designed to produce the best tone possible at an affordable price, including solid acacia top for greater volume and better tone, bone nut and saddle for better clarity and sustain, open back machine heads for tuning precision and eco-friendly wood selections.
Kohala Series
The Kohala has all of the aesthetic upgrades of the Mano, including solid top, maple binding, gold tuners, and dual strap pins, but it’s built with acacia wood instead of mahogany. Acacia is revered for its beautiful, full tone and we’ve added abalone-style trim around the body.

After a surge in popularity in the last couple of years, the tenor is poised to become the biggest selling uke body size soon. At 26", it is another increase in size from the concert (at 24"). The benefits of that larger size: you get even more room on the fingerboard to shape the chords and the larger body provides even more resonance, volume and depth. The tenor ukulele will sound quite a bit deeper than the other options, so it strays a bit from traditional ukulele tone.

Got this for Christmas, have never played before, but wanted to learn. It has a lovely sound and beautiful craftsmanship. Gotta keep it away from my daughter, she keeps stealing it to play herself!
I am very happy with my new tenor ukulele! After the initial confusion, when I received a ukulele with a high G string-turns out I missed a step in ordering. I have visited a local music store and had the string changed to low G. All is good!
This is my first Solid top ukulele as all my other ones are laminated. This a solid top tenor ukulele for about the same price as a laminated one. What a deal! The qualiyof the uke is shown in the sound it produces. I'm glad we have an option for well priced solid top ukeleles in Canada. Will by again from Honolua for sure.
Ordering was a snap, it did take about a week to arrive but it’s been worth it. I’ve played it everyday since. I love the warm tone with the low G string and the slightly more room on the fretboard makes it just a bit easier to play. I’m expecting that the sound will only improve with age. Great value in a solid wood tenor ukulele and it looks great too.
